Robert Boone

Robert Boone has been integral to DECA Dental Group since March 2016. Starting as the Director of IT, he was promoted to Chief Information Officer (CIO) in March 2018. As CIO, Robert leads digital transformation efforts, ensuring the integration of technologies like EHR practice management software and patient communication tools. He prioritizes data security and regulatory compliance, particularly with HIPAA, and fosters innovation by staying abreast of emerging trends in the industry. His role is pivotal in aligning technology with the company’s strategic goals. 

Robert’s professional journey spans over 23 years in the IT industry, with significant experience across multiple sectors before settling in dental for the last eight years. This diverse background has equipped him with invaluable experience across various platforms and solutions, enabling him to make quick and decisive decisions while leading DECA’s technology efforts. 

Robert holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas, graduating cum laude in 2001. He is also a Microsoft Certified Professional, instrumental in his career growth and ability to effectively lead DECA’s IT initiatives. 

Robert adheres to a “servant leadership” philosophy, placing the needs of his team and the organization above his own to cultivate an environment of trust and cooperation. He ensures that all IT initiatives support the organization’s overall goals, viewing technology as a facilitator of business success. 

One of Robert’s most significant achievements at DECA is implementing a robust cybersecurity program that ranks in the 99th percentile of cyber posture across Blackstone’s portfolio companies. This accomplishment highlights his commitment to data security and regulatory compliance. 

Looking ahead, Robert aspires to create scalable IT systems that can accommodate growth, streamline processes for efficiency, and leverage data analytics for informed decision-making. He aims to stay ahead of technological advancements in the dental industry, enhance patient experience through technology, ensure robust cybersecurity measures for data protection and compliance, and foster partnerships within the organization.

Outside of his professional life, Robert enjoys spending time with his family and friends, camping, and supporting all Dallas area professional sports teams.
